Young Woman Found Hanging in Irba’s Kumar Lodge, Several Questions Raised Over Cause of Death

Ranchi:- A sensational case has emerged from the Ormanjhi police station area in Ranchi, where a 24-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Kumar Lodge, located near Medanta Hospital in Irba. The deceased has been identified as Suman Kumari, a resident of Mesra Tukkutoli in Kanke block, who worked at the call center of Medanta Hospital.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon. Suman was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside a room at Kumar Lodge, located near the hospital. According to police, it appears to be a case of suicide at first glance, but a thorough investigation is being carried out from all possible angles.

As per information provided by Kumar Lodge supervisor Pintu Singh, Sajeb Hanif—who works at Medanta Hospital—had been staying at the lodge since January. Suman would frequently visit him there. Around 3 to 3:30 PM on Monday, when Sajeb returned to the lodge for lunch, he found the room locked from inside. Despite repeatedly knocking and calling out, there was no response from inside. He then requested the lodge staff to break open the door.

A young man named Prince reportedly kicked the door open. Upon entering, they found Suman hanging from the ceiling fan with a scarf. According to sources, she was still breathing at the time, and she was immediately taken to Medanta Hospital in an ambulance, where she died during treatment.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Ormanjhi police arrived at the scene and sent the body to RIMS for postmortem after conducting preliminary investigations.

Ormanjhi Station in-charge and police inspector Anil Kumar Tiwari informed the media that no suicide note has been recovered so far. The deceased’s family has not yet raised any objections or allegations either.

When asked by media personnel whether Sajeb Hanif had been taken into custody or was being questioned, police inspector clarified that no one has been detained at this point. Further action will be taken based on the postmortem report and other forensic evidence.

The police have termed the matter serious and said that all facts and circumstances are being thoroughly examined before reaching any conclusions, to ensure the truth is brought to light.
