Ranchi: DC of Ranchi, Manjunath Bhajantri, chaired an online review meeting with all Panchayat Heads (Mukhiya) of the district from the Collectorate Office. The primary goal of the meeting was to review and ensure the proper functioning of basic amenities in Panchayat Bhawans. The DC instructed all Panchayat Heads (Mukhiya) to ensure the availability of essential facilities such as drinking water, electricity, generators, computers, internet, building maintenance, toilets, Pragya Kendras and access roads in all Panchayat Bhawans. The deadline to complete all these works was set as December 31, 2024.

Operation of Pragya Kendras

The DC emphasized the importance of regular operation of Pragya Kendras in all Panchayats and directed coordination with BSNL officials to ensure internet connectivity in shadow areas.

Inspections and Awards

The DC announced that surprise inspections of Panchayats would be conducted. Based on the standards of maintenance and operations, the best Panchayat in each block, as well as the district’s overall best Panchayat, will be honored with certificates of appreciation.

Complaint Resolution

To address grievances promptly, the DC directed the promotion of the WhatsApp number 9430328080 across rural areas. This initiative aims to enable residents from remote areas to directly share their problems with the district administration.

“Abua” WhatsApp Group

The DC urged Panchayat Heads ( Mukhiya) to join the “Abua” WhatsApp group, created to disseminate updates about government welfare schemes and daily administrative activities at the block level. The DC encouraged Panchayat Heads (Mukhiya) to adopt a proactive approach toward strengthening the Panchayat system. He emphasized that Panchayat Bhawans should not merely function as centers for implementing government schemes but also serve as the foundation for rural development. This meeting marked a significant step toward improving governance and service delivery in rural areas, focusing on both infrastructure and effective administration.
