Social Initiative by Manrakhan Mahto Group Of Institutions: Awareness Campaign on Women’s Health and Hygiene

Ranchi: The Manrakhan Mahto Group of Institutions organized an awareness campaign on menstrual hygiene under its community service initiatives. The program was inaugurated by the college chairman, Honorable Manrakhan Mahto. During the event, trainees performed a street play near the panchayat building in Kedal village, addressing taboos surrounding menstruation and emphasizing the importance of hygiene. The play encouraged the villagers to dispel misconceptions about menstruation and maintain proper hygiene.

Additionally, sanitary pads were distributed among women in Furhura Toli and Kedal village. This initiative helped women understand the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and preventing infections. Speaking at the event, Chairman Manrakhan Mahto said, “Menstruation is not an illness; it is a natural process. Many conservative beliefs associated with it need to be eradicated today. By using sanitary pads, girls can avoid potential health issues and infections in the future.”

The event witnessed active participation from the institution’s trustees, including Virendranath Ohdar, Khushboo Singh, Kriti Kajal, Director Manoj Kumar Mahto, Manager Mukesh Kumar, Administrator Meena Kumari, Principal Dr. Dudheshwar Mahto of Manrakhan Mahto B.Ed. College, Principal Chitravel V. of the Nursing College, Principal Ragini Kumari of the Pharmacy College, as well as teachers, non-teaching staff, and trainees.

This community service program not only raised awareness about menstrual hygiene in rural areas but also conveyed the message of adopting a progressive outlook in society.
