Show-Cause Notice Issued to Kanke Circle Employee
Ranchi:- During the Janta Darbar held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the Collectorate premises, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri seriously addressed public grievances and directed concerned officials to ensure timely resolution of issues.
A particularly concerning case emerged during the session, where an applicant was repeatedly forced to visit the Kanke Circle Office for correction of land area in a revenue receipt (malguzari). Taking immediate cognizance of the matter, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the Additional Collector to issue a show-cause notice to the concerned staff. He stated firmly that it is unacceptable for government staff to subject the public to unnecessary bureaucratic rounds, and strict action will be taken against such negligence. This complaint was brought forth by a former serviceman, Shivanandan Jha, during the Janta Darbar.

Throughout the session, the Deputy Commissioner attentively listened to various issues raised by residents from both urban and rural parts of the district. A majority of the grievances were related to land revenue matters. On the spot, he consulted with the Additional Collector and revenue officials to assess the latest status and instructed them to ensure swift resolution. He also contacted circle officers via phone and instructed them to conduct physical verification of the applications and act promptly.
Additional complaints were received regarding the need for constructing a new high-capacity water tank near the historic water tower in the Lalpur area, and the proper maintenance of the nearby water park. In response, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials from the Municipal Corporation and the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to coordinate and take appropriate action.

Present during the session were the Project Director (ITDA), District Public Relations Officer, Nodal Officer of the Public Grievance Cell, and the Assistant Director of Social Security, among other officials.
