Instructions given to prepare an application format for the selection of groups

Committee members provided several positive suggestions

Ranchi: A meeting of the Entrepreneurship Development Committee was held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi, Manjunath Bhajantri.

The meeting, which took place in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall at the District Collectorate, was attended by various representatives including the Deputy Development Commissioner of Ranchi, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, GM DIC Ranchi, LDM Ranchi, representatives from IIM, XISS, IHM, RBI Ranchi, DDM NABARD, SPM Nudge, District Coordinator of the Small and Cottage Industries Board, DPM JSLPS Ranchi, RUDSETI/RSETI, CSR TATA/AZIM PREMJI FOUNDATION, District Horticulture Officer of Ranchi, and other relevant officials.

The meeting discussed the creation of 100 non-farm/MSME domain entrepreneurs in Ranchi district for the financial year 2025-26 through a brainstorming session. The primary objective of forming groups is to target small and medium entrepreneurs, providing them a platform to grow and sustain their businesses, with the goal of developing at least 100 entrepreneurs.

A group discussion took place among the committee members, and several positive suggestions were presented, including the following:

  1. Identifying existing entrepreneurs and their problems to provide them better support.
  2. Identifying highly motivated entrepreneurs.
  3. Designing and developing better technical and business training modules.
  4. Providing better awareness on packaging and marketing strategies.
  5. Targeting emerging sectors like the EV sector.
  6. Developing 100 “Didi Cafes.”
  7. Developing travel agencies, cafes, and cottages.
  8. Developing cloud kitchens.
  9. Assigning each individual bank the task of supporting and developing 2-3 entrepreneurs.
  10. Developing the process for identifying and screening entrepreneurs.
  11. Planning a suitable ecosystem for entrepreneurs from start to finish.

District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri instructed that a simplified application format be created for selecting entrepreneurs, which will be made available through a link. He also directed that this application be widely publicized through various WhatsApp groups.

Additionally, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri directed the sharing of the link in the Abua groups of various blocks. He instructed that a committee, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Development Commissioner, be formed to scrutinize the applications.
