Key Meeting of Pasmanda Community in Patna: Call for Election Boycott if Political Representation Is Denied

Patna: A crucial meeting of various Pasmanda community organizations was held in the capital city of Patna, where prominent leaders from across the country participated. The meeting focused on the demand for adequate political representation, with a strong warning of a vote boycott in the upcoming 2025 elections if these demands were ignored.

Addressing the gathering, Mohammad Naushad Alam, President of Lok Seva Samiti, emphasized that the Pasmanda community must be given political and administrative representation in proportion to their population. He stressed that the principle of “Jiski jitni abaadi, uski utni hissedari” (equal representation based on population) is essential for the community’s respect and rights. Alam further stated that the Pasmanda community would only achieve its due recognition and rights by organizing its political strength — and if necessary, by forming its own political party.

Key Issues Discussed in the Meeting:

1. Protest Against Political Neglect: Leaders unanimously expressed concern over the continuous political and social neglect of the Pasmanda community. Despite forming a significant portion of the Muslim population, the Pasmanda community remains deprived of fair representation at political and administrative levels.
2. Fight for Rights: Leaders declared that the Pasmanda community has been fighting for its rights for years, but the politics of treating them merely as a vote bank will no longer be tolerated.
3. Warning of Election Boycott: The community leaders warned that if political parties continue to ignore the demands of the Pasmanda community in the 2025 elections, the entire community will unite and boycott the elections.
4. Protection of Constitutional Rights: Leaders clarified that the decision to boycott elections is not an emotional outburst but a strong and strategic step toward protecting their constitutional rights.

This significant meeting made it clear that the Pasmanda community is ready to go to any extent to secure its rightful place. If political parties fail to acknowledge their demands, the community will resort to a democratic boycott of elections.
