Issue of Hajj Pilgrimage Echoes in the Assembly

Simdega MLA Bhushan Bara Raises the Issue of Hajj Pilgrims During Zero Hour

Ranchi – Simdega MLA Bhushan Bara raised serious concerns regarding the issues faced by Hajj pilgrims from Jharkhand during the Zero Hour of the state assembly session. He urged the government to re-designate Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi as an embarkation point for Hajj pilgrims. The MLA highlighted that from 2009 to 2019, Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, served as the embarkation point for Hajj pilgrims from Jharkhand. Under this arrangement, pilgrims could fly directly from Ranchi to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. However, this facility has now been discontinued, and all Hajj flights are being operated from Kolkata, causing significant inconvenience to the state’s pilgrims. MLA Bhushan Bara emphasized the challenges arising from this change, stating that Hajj pilgrims from Jharkhand are facing physical, mental, and financial hardships. He urged the government to take immediate action to address the issue and restore the previous system. Through the assembly, he appealed for Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, to be reinstated as an embarkation point for Hajj pilgrims, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free journey directly to Jeddah.
