Grand Celebration of International Women’s Day at Vinita College of Nursing
Ranchi: Vinita College of Nursing celebrated International Women’s Day with a grand and inspiring event aimed at promoting women’s empowerment, women’s rights, and gender equality. Throughout the event, the contributions of women and the respect they deserve were recognized and honored.
The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a cake-cutting ceremony, led by the Chairman, Jitendra Kumar Singh; Director, Vinita Devi; and faculty members including Elizabeth, Zeenat, Debadrita, Akanksha, Anamika, Manjari, and Anjali, along with the entire teaching and support staff. This symbolic start beautifully captured the joy and significance of the occasion.

Several creative and knowledge-enhancing competitions were organized for the students, including:
Poster-making competition
Essay-writing competition
Sketch competition on women’s rights and gender equality
The students participated enthusiastically, showcasing their creativity, thoughtfulness, and artistic skills. These activities played an essential role in spreading awareness about women’s empowerment and gender equality.

Chairman Jitendra Kumar Singh, in his address, highlighted the importance of women’s rights and their role in society. He stated “Women’s empowerment is not just a slogan — it is the foundation of true progress in our society. Until women are empowered, no society can achieve complete development.”
Director Vinita Devi motivated the students by saying “You are the future of our society. Recognize your rights, fulfill your dreams, and show the world that women are second to none in any field.”
Faculty member Zeenat shared her thoughts on the nursing profession, emphasizing its spirit of service, compassion, and dedication. She said “Nursing is not just a profession — it is a symbol of service, empathy, and commitment. Nurses are the backbone of society, providing not only physical care but also emotional and mental support to patients. Women working in the nursing profession exemplify sensitivity, patience, and devotion. We are proud that our students are moving forward with this same spirit.”
This event not only provided students with a creative platform but also raised awareness and inspired them toward women’s empowerment, equality, and rights. The entire program was filled with enthusiasm, dedication, and a sense of unity.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks. Among those present were Suman, Chandan, the entire faculty, staff, and a large number of students.
