Demand for Local Employment Intensifies at Medanta Hospital
Panchayat Committee Member Salma Khatoon Sends Letter Seeking Priority for Local Youth in Recruitment
Ranchi: Salma Khatoon, a member of the Panchayat Committee from the Irba region in Ranchi district, has submitted a formal letter to Medanta Hospital, Irba, urging that unemployed local youth be given priority in the hospital’s ongoing recruitment process. The letter was handed over to the hospital administration by her son, Tariq Ohdar.

The letter highlights concerns that although Medanta Hospital is actively hiring staff, local rural youth are being overlooked in the process. Salma Khatoon expressed her apprehension and appealed to the institution to prioritize local residents so that employment opportunities can reach the youth of the region.
In her letter, Khatoon wrote, “The Irba area is already grappling with a serious unemployment crisis. Providing employment to local youth within their own region would not only strengthen their economic situation but also benefit the institution by employing individuals who are well-acquainted with the local language, culture, and environment.”
She further emphasized that this would enhance the hospital’s overall efficiency and service quality.

The letter also called for transparency in the recruitment process. If there are any official application procedures or formalities to be followed, the hospital is requested to publicly share this information so that eligible candidates can apply in time.
The issue has now become a topic of discussion across Irba and surrounding rural areas. Many local residents and youth have welcomed the initiative taken by the Panchayat Committee member and are hopeful that the hospital management will respond positively.
Tariq Ohdar, who personally delivered the letter, stated, “Our effort is to ensure that local resources are utilized and that our youth are provided with dignified employment opportunities close to their homes.”
