DC Manjunath Bhajantri Conducts Inspection of RIMS
Ensure Immediate Medical Assistance for Emergency Patients – DC
Ranchi: To address complaints from patients and their families regarding the services at the state’s largest government hospital, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi DC Manjunath Bhajantri conducted a surprise inspection on December 11, 2024. Accompanying him were RIMS Deputy Director (Finance) Yogendra Prasad, Deputy Medical Superintendent Rajeev Ranjan, and District Public Relations Officer Urvashi Pandey. During the inspection, the DC reviewed the administrative block, trauma center, emergency unit, blood bank, and various wards.

Interaction with Patients in Trauma Center, Directions for Improvements
At the trauma center, the DC interacted with admitted patients, seeking feedback on the medical care and overall services provided. He directed the Head of Department (HOD), Dr. Pradeep Kumar Bhattacharya, via phone to ensure the availability of bed information for patients from remote areas through a control number. Additionally, he instructed the trauma center in-charge, Dr. Trasha, to promptly admit patients referred from Jamshedpur and Sadar Hospital.
Strict Focus on Cleanliness and Hygiene
Inspecting cleanliness across the RIMS premises and wards, the DC issued instructions for improvement. He firmly advised officials to maintain hygiene standards without any compromise. The Deputy Medical Superintendent was tasked with strengthening housekeeping and sanitation arrangements.

Inspection of the Blood Bank
The DC also inspected the blood bank, reviewing the availability of various blood groups. He directed the in-charge officer, Deep Narayan Prasad, to ensure the software system remains active to reflect blood availability. The DC appealed to the general public and social organizations to actively participate in blood donation drives.
Announcement of a Meeting for Enhanced Facilities
The DC announced that a meeting with all department heads would be held within the next 2-3 days to discuss requirements and challenges. He emphasized that the aim of the meeting is to ensure better facilities for patients at RIMS through collaborative efforts.
This inspection reflects the DC’s commitment to improving healthcare services and ensuring transparency in operations.
