Kolkata : Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that with the rapid pace at which technology is evolving today, it is essential for states to maintain better relations, coordination, and collaboration in order to build a strong and developed nation. Global business summits play a decisive role in this regard, as they help strengthen trade relations between states and other countries. Such events create new opportunities for development through investment and new technology. The Chief Minister was addressing the opening ceremony of the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit 2025, the 8th edition, at Biswa Bangla Convention Center, New Town, Kolkata, West Bengal. The summit, chaired by the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee, is being attended by several dignitaries, entrepreneurs, and investors from India and abroad.

Enormous Investment Potential in Jharkhand – Entrepreneurs are Welcome
The Chief Minister said, “At this summit, I have had the opportunity to meet guests and industry leaders from both India and abroad. It provides a chance to understand how we can move forward with the support of investors for the overall development of Jharkhand. I extend a warm invitation to the entrepreneurs and investors attending the Bengal Global Business Summit 2025 to come to Jharkhand. Invest here so that the state can progress rapidly in terms of development.”

Jharkhand’s Key Role in the Nation’s Economy
The Chief Minister emphasized, “Jharkhand is one of the most resource-rich states in India, with nearly 40 percent of the country’s mineral resources. Jharkhand is the largest producer of essential raw materials for various minerals and industries. In this way, the state has been playing a significant role in the country’s economy. Several mineral-based industries have been established here for a long time, and several industrial houses have invested in the state. However, the need now is to take the state forward. For that, we are making new efforts to attract new industries.”

Apart from Minerals, Other Sectors Have Enormous Potential
The Chief Minister mentioned, “In addition to mineral-based industries, Jharkhand offers immense opportunities in sectors such as arts, culture, and tourism. Jharkhand is the largest producer of tasar silk in India, making it a key player in the textile industry. The state is also rich in culture and arts, and its natural beauty makes it an ideal destination for tourism. Jharkhand can become the top choice for investors in the tourism sector as well. I urge entrepreneurs to come to Jharkhand, and the government will provide full support.”

Similar Activities Between Jharkhand and West Bengal
The Chief Minister stated, “Jharkhand and West Bengal are geographically close, and both states are engaged in many similar activities. It is difficult to distinguish which activity belongs to which state, as both are progressing in many areas with similar efforts. Such initiatives are opening new avenues for the overall development of both states.”
