Assembly Gherao on August 4 over Jharkhand and Muslim Issues: AMYA Organization

Ranchi: Due to the non-implementation of the local policy in the state, employment opportunities are being snatched away from the youth of Jharkhand. In the 13 Scheduled Districts of Jharkhand, the backward classes are not getting reservations in proportion to their population, resulting in a lack of proper representation. At the same time, key policy issues related to justice, rights, education, employment, and development for the Muslim community in Jharkhand remain unresolved.

So far, incidents of mob lynching have taken place in the state, but the Mob Lynching Bill, 2021 has still not been amended and enforced to prevent such crimes. Candidates with Fazil and B.Ed degrees have been denied appointments to Secondary Urdu Teacher posts. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has refused to conduct exams for the Madrasa Aalim and Fazil degrees, while the government continues to delay organizing these exams through Ranchi University.

Out of the approved 4,401 Urdu teacher posts, 3,712 vacant positions are being surrendered instead of being filled with candidates who cleared the TET in 2013 and 2016 for middle schools. Important initiatives like forming an Urdu Academy and starting JPSC and UPSC coaching for minorities at the Haj House are also pending with the department. Land leases for centuries-old Muslim religious sites have yet to be allocated. Moreover, no concrete arrangement has been made so far to ensure that Haj pilgrims from Jharkhand can depart directly from Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport.

Addressing these serious issues, AMYA’s Central President S. Ali spoke in detail during a round table meeting organized by the organization at Anjuman Islamia Conference Hall on July 13, 2025. The office bearers present announced that they will hold a massive Assembly gherao on August 4 during the Monsoon Session in support of these demands.

The round table meeting was attended by AMYA’s central office bearers including Ziauddin Ansari, Latif Alam, Mohammad Aurangzeb, Ekram Hussain, Aftab Alam, Abdul Ghaffar, Hafiz Jan Mohammad, Anjum Khan, Modassir Ehrar, Ayub Ansari, Firoz Ansari, Siddiq Ansari, Tahmid Ansari, Afsar Alam, Aslam Ansari, Imran Jilani, Alauddin Ansari, Javed Ansari, Shahbaz Hussain, Nazir Hussain, and several others.
