Massive Fire in Transformer Triggers Loud Explosion, Disrupts Power Supply
Ranchi — A major accident was narrowly avoided on Thursday around 4:30 PM in Anandi Dumartoli, located in the Ormanjhi block of Ranchi, Jharkhand. A roadside transformer suddenly caught fire, which quickly turned into a fierce blaze. Within moments, the entire transformer was engulfed in flames and exploded with a loud blast.
The explosion was so powerful that its sound was heard far and wide, creating panic in the entire area. According to local residents and eyewitnesses, as soon as the fire started, sparks began flying from the transformer, and within seconds, a loud explosion occurred. The blast spread fear among people living and working in nearby homes and shops.
Following the explosion, the oil inside the transformer started leaking, leaving behind charred remains and blackened ground around the site. Fortunately, no one was near the transformer at the time of the incident, so there were no casualties. However, the transformer was completely destroyed, resulting in a total power outage in the area.
Local residents immediately informed the electricity department and demanded the restoration of power supply at the earliest. With the festival of Holi in full swing and the holy month of Ramadan underway, the power outage has added to people’s troubles. Residents fear that the lack of electricity could disrupt both festive preparations and religious observances.
The locals have urged the electricity department to install a new transformer and restore the power supply without delay. Now, all eyes are on how quickly the authorities respond to this situation.
