Cyber Cell Keeping a Close Watch on Social Media
Ranchi: Ahead of the festival of colors, Holi, a Central Peace Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner-Cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri. The meeting took place in Room No. 505 of Ranchi Collectorate Block-B and was attended by DIG-Cum-Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandan Sinha, SDOs of Sadar and Bundu, Traffic Superintendent of Police, Rural Superintendent of Police, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order), District Nazir Deputy Collector, concerned police officials, and members of the Peace Committee. During the meeting, the emphasis was placed on celebrating Holi in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

During the discussions, Peace Committee members stressed the importance of communal harmony during the Holika Dahan and Holi celebrations, especially given the ongoing month of Ramadan. Members also raised issues such as taking action against individuals with criminal tendencies and controlling rash driving. Several suggestions were put forward by the committee members on these matters.

District Administration on High Alert, Social Media Under Surveillance
Deputy Commissioner-Cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri stated that the district administration is fully alert ahead of Holi. He urged Peace Committee members to immediately share any information related to law and order with the administration. He also appealed to citizens not to forward messages on social media that could disturb communal harmony, adding that the Cyber Cell is keeping a strict watch on social media activities. Additionally, he assured that arrangements for water, electricity, sanitation, and ambulances at necessary locations would be ensured during the festival.

Appreciation for the Support of the Peace Committee
DC Manjunath Bhajantri acknowledged the valuable suggestions provided by the Peace Committee members and assured them of the district administration’s commitment to making the best possible arrangements for Holi. He appreciated the committee’s cooperation and expressed confidence that, just like during the Durga Puja celebrations, upcoming festivals like Holi and Ramadan would also be celebrated peacefully with the support of Ranchi’s residents and the committee.

New Members to Join Peace Committee, ID Cards to Be Issued
The Deputy Commissioner announced that new members would be added to the Central Peace Committee. Letters have been sent to the respective police stations and Circle Officers for verification, after which new members will be inducted. He also mentioned that ID cards would be issued to all Peace Committee members and encouraged the inclusion of women in the committee.
Strict Action Against Those Disrupting Communal Harmony: DIG-Cum-SSP
During the meeting, DIG-Cum-Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Sinha emphasized the rich cultural heritage of the country and Ranchi’s tradition of brotherhood and unity. He expressed confidence that Ranchi’s residents would continue this tradition by celebrating Holi and Ramadan in an atmosphere of communal harmony. He urged Peace Committee members to prevent minor issues from escalating and to guide younger individuals if they make mistakes. In a stern warning, he stated that those attempting to disrupt social harmony would face strict action from the police. He also assured that adequate security forces would be deployed across the district during Holi, with patrolling arrangements in all sensitive areas.
