A Hooghly-Registered Committee Allegedly Offering Employment in the Name of Cashew Packing
Ranchi: The district administration has received information through various sources about employment claims made by the Chandur Bandhu Milan Kalyan Committee in rural and urban areas of Ranchi. This committee is reportedly offering employment to women under the pretext of cashew packing. In response, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri has urged the public to remain vigilant. He advised citizens to immediately inform the district administration about such activities and exercise caution while sharing sensitive documents like Aadhaar, PAN card, bank details, or engaging in financial transactions.
Investigation and Action Ordered
Deputy Commissioner Bhajantri has directed the Labour Superintendent, District Program Manager (JSLPS), and Labour Superintendent to investigate the matter. He has also instructed officials to take appropriate legal action if the claims are found to be fraudulent.
Cashew Packing Employment Claims Under Scrutiny
As per the reports, the committee claims to provide employment opportunities to women in the cashew packing sector. The committee, registered in Hooghly (Registration No. S/1L/2025), is allegedly collecting Aadhaar, PAN card, and bank details from women.
Scheduled Event Raises Concerns
The committee has also announced a public gathering on January 7, 2025, at the Gaushala Ground in Kanke. However, the official communication issued by the committee contains several errors, raising suspicions about its authenticity.
The district administration has appealed to the public to report any suspicious activities to the authorities and ensure the protection of their personal information. Further investigation will determine the veracity of the committee’s claims and safeguard the interests of the affected individuals.
