Ranchi: Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, chaired a meeting at the Circuit House, Circular Road, Ranchi, to evaluate the implementation of the Aspirational District Program. The meeting was attended by Ranchi DC Manjunath Bhajantri; DDC Dinesh Kumar Yadav; Private Secretary to the Minister Nikhil Saraswat (IRS); Assistant Collector and Assistant Magistrate Aditya Pandey; Project Director, ITDA, Ranchi, Sanjay Kumar Bhagat; Additional Municipal Commissioner, Ranchi Municipal Corporation; District Transport Officer; District Supply Officer; Civil Surgeon and Chief Medical Officer; District Planning Officer; District Education Officer; District Horticulture Officer; District Agriculture Officer; District Animal Husbandry Officer; District Dairy Development Officer; NHAI Project Director; Labor Superintendent Representative; Assistant Director of Social Security; District Social Welfare Officer; Executive Engineers from East and West Ranchi Drinking Water and Sanitation Divisions; Lead District Manager; District Informatics Officer; JSLPS District Program Manager; PPIA Fellows; District Coordinators; and other concerned officials.
During the review meeting, Ajay Tamta Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, assessed progress in health, agriculture, animal husbandry, women and child development, education, financial inclusion, skill development, and rural infrastructure. The evaluation was conducted via a detailed PPT presentation, with an in-depth discussion on various challenges faced in the district. He particularly emphasized addressing gaps in school infrastructure and gathered information from the District Education Officer about major competitive exams passed by government school students after completing 12th grade. He provided several critical instructions regarding improvements in education. The Minister stressed the need to promote advanced agricultural practices like mulching and drip irrigation, address shortages of healthcare professionals, and accelerate projects related to electrification, sanitation, and road development. He issued several key directives to the relevant officials.
As part of his visit, Ajay Tamta toured a floriculture initiative under the National Horticulture Mission at Hesatu village, Gagari panchayat, Ormanjhi block. This project, led by progressive farmer Shashi Bhushan Sharan, spans five acres and highlights the district’s progress in sustainable agriculture and rural livelihoods.
