Regional Level Revenue Collection Meeting Held
Ranchi: A review meeting of the current status of revenue collection was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner, South Chotanagpur Division, Anjani Kumar Mishra in the regional hall. During the meeting, instructions were given to make immediate improvements and ensure the achievement of the targets at all costs. The meeting reviewed the performance of the Transport, Auction Letters, Mining, Excise, and Fisheries departments. The revenue collection status of various departments was discussed in detail, and instructions were issued to the concerned officers. The Commissioner emphasized that officers at the division and district levels must work responsibly to promote revenue collection in line with departmental guidelines. He urged that before the end of the financial year, all districts should expedite the work of increasing revenue collection and improving the revenue collection process in their respective departments. Action plans should be prepared accordingly. The Commissioner also stated that revenue collection will be monitored at the division level, and all departments will submit their monthly reports.

District Transport Officers were instructed to conduct vehicle inspections and ensure revenue collection. They were also directed to run special campaigns to intensively inspect overloaded vehicles and the permits of smaller vehicles.
While reviewing the Mining Department, the Commissioner emphasized that illegal mining should be immediately stopped, and periodic raids should be conducted to ensure necessary actions. All mines should undergo section measurements. He also mentioned that illegal sand mining is taking place at several ghats, and strict action should be taken to halt illegal sand extraction. Legal action will be taken against individuals caught engaging in illicit sand extraction. During the review of the Excise Department, the Commissioner discussed steps taken to curb the illegal trade of alcohol, including raids and measures to prevent the sale of alcohol above the MRP, and issued necessary directions. In the review of the Auction Letter process, the Commissioner emphasized that Auction Letter officials should show interest in their work and expedite the process. Pending cases in the Auction Letters should be resolved as soon as possible. Auction officials were instructed to take necessary action on pending cases and submit reports at their level for further action. The Commissioner also directed the absent officers to provide clarification for their absence.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner’s Secretary Alok Kumar, Secretary of Regional Transport Authority Harivansh Pandit, Under Secretary Naresh Gupta, District Transport Officers from Ranchi/Gumla/Lohardaga/Khunti/Simdega, District Mining Officers from Ranchi/Gumla/Lohardaga, Auction Officers, and other district officials.
