A Voice for Protection of Waqf Properties Rises from Irba — Call for Participation in June 22 Conference

Tahaffuz-e-Auqaf Conference in Bariatu to Protest the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025

Ranchi — A “Waqf Bachao Conference” is being organized under the aegis of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Bariatu Maidan in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The event is being held in protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025, with the objective of raising public awareness, encouraging collective dialogue, and protecting the interests of the community. This program has been named the “Tahaffuz-e-Auqaf Conference.” Its core aim is to ensure the protection of waqf properties, their legal safeguards, and to raise awareness in society about their social, religious, and cultural importance.

To spread awareness about this important conference and its preparations, a press conference was held on June 21 at Madrasa Mazharul Uloom in Irba (Ranchi), presided over by Maulana Samiul Haque Mazahiri. Present at the press meet were teachers of the madrasa, imams of local mosques, and media representatives.

Maulana Samiul Haque Mazahiri informed that the conference will witness the participation of Dr. Qasim Rasool Ilyas, spokesperson of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board; Hazrat Mufti Umar Abedin Qasmi Madani, General Secretary of All India Milli Council, Telangana; Imran Pratapgarhi, Member of Rajya Sabha and National President of the Congress Minority Department; MPs Imran Masood and Mohibullah Nadvi; Jagmohan Singh; Syed Sarwar Chishti; and several other eminent religious leaders, legal experts, social activists, and intellectuals from across the country. They will shed light on the current challenges related to waqf, the potential impacts of the proposed bill, and the constitutional rights of the Muslim community.

Finally, an appeal was made to all citizens of the state, especially those in and around Irba, to actively participate in the Tahaffuz-e-Auqaf Conference on June 22, so that a strong public opinion can be formed for the protection of waqf properties, and effective legal and constitutional actions can be ensured.

On this occasion, Mufti Abu Ubaidah Qasmi, Mufti Wasiur Rahman Nadvi, Maulana Samiul Haque Mazahiri, Maulana Mahfooz Mazahiri, Maulana Abu Talib, Hafiz Junaid, Hafiz Abul Hasan, Maulana Rashid, Qari Jan Mohammad, Maulana Mehtab, Maulana Nafees, and others were present.
