360 Girls in Kanke Receive Orange Belts in Self-Defense Under ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ Scheme

Successful Organization of Karate Training Session

Ranchi: Under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme, a karate training session was organized at Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School, Kanke, with the aim of promoting self-defense and instilling confidence among girls. The session was conducted by the District Social Welfare Office, Ranchi, under the guidance of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Manjunath Bhajantri.

A total of 360 girls from the school participated in the training, where they were trained up to the second level (Orange Belt) in karate. At the session, all the participants were awarded orange belts in recognition of their achievement, symbolizing their competence in self-defense.

District Social Welfare Officer Surbhi Singh, the school warden, teachers, and other officials were present during the session. The girls also demonstrated various self-defense techniques during the event, showcasing the effectiveness of the training in contributing to their physical and mental development.

This initiative by the district administration is not only a significant step towards empowering young girls but also reinforces a sense of respect and safety for them within society.
