Sarhul Festival Celebrated with Grandeur at St. Mother Teresa School Neori
Ranchi – The Sarhul festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and adherence to tribal traditions on the eve of the festival at St. Mother Teresa School, located in Neori under the Kanke block. On this occasion, students were given detailed information about the significance of the Sarhul festival, along with its historical and cultural background. During the celebrations, children captivated the audience by performing traditional tribal dances, creating a joyful atmosphere.
Addressing the students, Chairman, Rameshwar Thakur, stated that Sarhul is a major festival of the tribal community, dedicated to the worship of nature. He emphasized that the festival symbolizes unity and peace.
School Secretary, Sarita Devi, highlighted the importance of tree worship, explaining that trees are the foundation of life. She added that this festival is not just significant for the tribal community but also carries an important message for all of humanity.
Director Vijay Laxmi expressed her thoughts, stating that awareness and respect for natural festivals have helped in preserving our environment. However, she warned that modern-day interference with nature has led to adverse consequences, such as the growing threat of global warming.
