29th Sarhul Procession Organized at Mayapur Sarna Site
Ranchi : Under the banner of the Adivasi 22 Padha Sarna Committee (Sadma-Ormanjhi-Kanke), the grand 29th Sarhul Shobha Yatra was successfully organized on Wednesday at the Mayapur Sarna site in Chandra Panchayat.
On this auspicious occasion, Chamra Linda, the Minister for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Class Welfare in the Jharkhand government, attended as the chief guest. Devotees performed rituals and worshiped according to traditional customs while dancing to the rhythmic beats of the Mandar drum, exchanging warm wishes for the Sarhul festival.
In celebration of Sarhul, groups from villages including Sadma, Chandra, and Mayapur took out a grand procession dressed in traditional attire. The entire atmosphere resonated with the beats of the Mandar and melodious Sarhul songs, creating a vibrant and musical ambiance. Women and youth performed traditional dances, adding to the festival’s enthusiasm.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Babulal Mahli, Ramesh Chandra Oraon, Lalita Pahan, Ramesh Oraon, Dhaneshwar Munda, Kamisnor Munda, Rizwan Ansari, Humayun Ansari, Suresh Sahu, Haider Ansari, Etwa Munda, Kamalnath Munda, Bigu Oraon, Harilal Munda, and many others.
This year’s Sarhul Puja Mahotsav witnessed an overwhelming public participation, making it a historic event. The entire celebration reflected a unique blend of religious devotion, community unity, and traditional culture.
