Revenue Minister Issues Strict Instructions to Enhance Revenue Collection and Address Land-Related Matters
Ranchi: Revenue Minister Deepak Birua has announced a significant initiative to make land-related processes more transparent and accessible to the public. He stated that residents of the state will now be able to generate land receipts through barcodes. This will eliminate the need for people to visit government offices or deal with staff for obtaining land receipts. Departmental actions will be taken promptly to implement this new facility.
The announcement was made on Thursday during a virtual meeting held at the minister’s office in Project Bhavan with divisional commissioners and departmental officials. The meeting emphasized increasing revenue collection and resolving pending land-related cases swiftly.
- Barcode Facility:
The facility to generate land receipts via barcodes directly on mobile devices will be introduced. This will save time and resources for the public. - Pending Revenue Collection:
The Commissioner of Chaibasa proposed recovering ₹2,000 crore in outstanding dues from companies in Jamshedpur district. The minister instructed officials to expedite the recovery process immediately. - Encroachment on Government Land:
Orders were issued to prepare a list of government land records (Jamabandi) to monitor unauthorized encroachments strictly. The minister also directed strict action against illegal encroachments along the Harmu River. - Mutation and Khas Mahal Land:
Discussions were held to address issues related to mutation in a time-bound manner, renew leases for Khas Mahal land, and simplify the process of Sairat (public land) revenue collection. - Pending Court Cases:
Senior officials were tasked with regularly reviewing and expediting the resolution of pending court cases. - Revenue Enhancement Instructions:
Directives were given to boost revenue collection by resolving auction-related disputes and inspecting circle offices.
The meeting was attended by Ranchi Divisional Commissioner Anjani Mishra, Hazaribagh Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kumar, Palamu Divisional Commissioner Balkishun Munda, Dumka Divisional Commissioner Lalchand Dadal, and Chaibasa Divisional Commissioner Hariprasad Kesari, among others.
Minister Deepak Birua instructed officials to complete all tasks transparently and within the stipulated timeframe. He emphasized that these measures would not only provide better facilities to the public but also significantly increase the state’s revenue.
Revenue Secretary Chandrashekhar, Special Secretary Shashi Prakash Jha, and other departmental officials were also present.
This new initiative by the Revenue Department aims to make land-related services in the state simpler, more transparent, and accessible. The primary objective is to provide better services to the public while enhancing the state’s revenue.
